The properties listed via the link located at the bottom of this page were acquired by the County through the tax sale foreclosure process and can be purchased for the listed sales price plus additional closing costs and attorney fees (closing costs and attorney fees are determined by your settlement attorney). 

Properties are sold on a first come, first serve basis, and in-person at the Commissioners Administrative Office (Room 111 of the County Office Complex); however, please contact the Commissioners office at (410) 651-0320 prior to your visit to ensure property availability. When you arrive to the office, you will be required to fill out a "Request to Purchase Surplus Property" form and provide a 10% non-refundable deposit at the time of your request. Accepted forms of payment are Cash, Check, or Money Order (credit cards and debit cards cannot be accepted at this time)

Please note, interested buyers are responsible for researching properties before requesting to purchase. All property details and information, as well as tax maps (that provide a general location of the property), can be found by following this link, SDAT: Real Property Search ,and providing the property account identification number (provided on the list of surplus properties linked at the bottom of this page).

Once your request has been formally approved by the Board of Commissioners for Somerset County, you will be notified via the contact information provided on your "Request To Purchase Surplus Property" form. From there, you will contact your settlement attorney to complete the transaction. **Please be advised that the Board of Commissioners for Somerset County retain the right to accept or reject any and all requests to purchase surplus property**
