Opening Reception:  Patrick Henry Exhibit at the West Main Street Gallery
5 – 7 pm.  1101 West Main Street, Crisfield.  Join the Somerset County Arts Council for an Opening Reception to welcome the Patrick Henry Exhibit to their gallery.  Outside of the opening reception, you can check out the exhibit during the Gallery’s regular hours, Wednesday – Friday 11 am – 3 pm; by appointment only on Saturdays.  For more information, please call 410-968-2787 or email socoarts@earthlink.net.

FUNDRAISER:  12 Days of Christmas Raffle
The Crisfield Elks Lodge #1044 will be hosting a raffle drawing and offer a different prize every day for 12 days.  Proceeds benefit the Elks’ Winter Wonderland festivities for the community.  Each prize will have a limited number of slots available, based on the value of the item being raffled.  You can reserve as many spots as you wish and all slots must be paid for within 24 hours of selection or they will be reopened for reservation.  For more information, please visit https://www.facebook.com/events/801514960695647
Now – December 7
CONTEST:  Registration is open for Somerset County Christmas Lights Contest
Homes must be registered by December 7.  Lights must be operational from December 14 to December 17 for judging purposes.  Homes must be located in Somerset County, Maryland.  Judging will be in six categories:  Reason for the Season, Traditionally Elegant, Here Comes Santa Clause, Winter Wonderland, Whimsical Magic, and A Griswold Family Christmas.  For more information, or to register, please visit https://www.somersetmd.us/departments/departments_-_n_-_z/recreation_and_parks/special_events.php.

FUNDRAISER:  Mount Vernon Volunteer Fire Company Gun Bash Raffle
Drawing on December 17th.  Ten guns, ten chances to win.  Tickets are $20 each and only 500 will be sold.  Available until sold out or the drawing.  Winner will have choice of gun or cash equivalent.  To be eligible for the gun, winner must pass a gun check.  All winning tickets will be re-entered for the remaining drawings.  See any member for tickets or purchase online.  Links for online purchases are on their Facebook event page at http://www.facebook.com/events/820742948688221.

FUNDRAISER:  Princess Anne Lions Club Wagon of Cheer Raffle
Tickets are available for $5 each or 3 for $10 from any Lions Club member.  Drawing will be held December 18 and you need not be present to win.

FUNDRAISER:  Holiday Oyster Raffle
There’s a wonderful basket up for grabs that includes the following:  Gift certificate for 1 bushel of fresh oysters, harvested from the Tangier Sound by Somerset County Watermen working on a historic Skipjack, an autographed copy of Working Skipjacks of Deal Island by local author Brice Stump, vintage oyster basket, vintage oyster plate, vintage seafood cookbook, oyster knife, and a $20 gift certificate to Junior’s Wines of Princess Anne.  Tickets are $10 each and benefit the Somerset County Historical Society.  Pick yours up at Somerset Choice Antiques (11731 Somerset Avenue, Princess Anne).  For more information, please visit http://www.somersetcountyhistoricalsociety.org/events.html

Giving Tuesday
Support your local non-profits with a donation of any size.  Many of them can be found through the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore’s The Shore Gives More site, for easy digital donations.  You can even schedule your donation ahead of time, so that you don’t have to remember on the exact day.  Making your donation through the portal gives local non-profits the chance to earn extra money in prizes from CFES.  Find the site here: http://www.shoregivesmore.org.
