Departments - A - M


The Maintenance department is responsible for maintaining approximately 60 county properties, many of which are marine facilities, parks and transfer stations.  Its fleet consists of 8 vehicles, 3 pieces of specialty equipment and 7 implements.  The normal workforce is approximately 12 employees.   The Maintenance Complex which is located on Cemetery Lane in Princess Anne includes an administrative office, equipment shed and storage shed. 

Mission

 The Maintenance department is determined to provide safe and efficient public facilities that promote economic development while protecting Somerset County’s beautiful and unique environment.

Functions

 The functions of the Maintenance department are numerous and vary greatly.  Most are performed by in-house forces, some are contracted out and a few are performed by inmates.  Those associated with safety are emphasized to protect our staff, inmates, interns, contractual employees and general public.
