Representing District 5 of Somerset County, Md.
Mr. Laird was born December 1, 1950 in Crisfield Maryland. He is the son of Randall and Flora Laird. Mr. Laird graduated from Crisfield High School in 1968, and was employed by O.W. Christy Box and Barrell, Spry’s Filling Station and Rubberset Company. He was also employed by Cable TV in Crisfield for 37 years. Married to Starr Hill for 41 years, they have two children, Randy Laird III, married to Julie Landon and Jerri Crockett, married to Donald Crockett, and four grandchildren; Randy IV, Stephen, Dominick, and Thomas. Mr. Laird raised broilers on the family farm for 36 years, served in the US Army Reserves for 8 years and in the US Coast Guard Reserves for 13 years. He is a lifetime member of Asbury United Methodist Church, where he has held and chaired several committees. He has volunteered 38 years with the Crisfield Fire Department, serving as a line officer, President, and Treasurer. Mr. Laird was also a coach for Crisfield Little League. |
